Growing up Catholic, I prayed a lot. Every night before bed, for a while on Sundays. Even in college after I had forsaken religion, I used to pray to help fall asleep. I pray occasionally now, but more as a meditation than as an actual discussion with the higher ups, though if they are listening all the better.

I can tell you one thing I know for certain: prayers don't work for getting your kids to sleep and in regards to college football.

(I'm not trying to get deep here so I won't talk too much about the fact that I understand prayer doesn't mean you are trying to change the outcome of something but rather that you are in many ways looking for strength to get through it as such.)

All that being said, I love prayers. I love it when people pray for me. Love it. I was raised Catholic and my peeps are religions and I believe in their power of prayer.

So tomorrow I am having this giant surgery to get this gross cancer out of my body (most of you know this because I have talked to you on the phone and if you don't I'm sorry you are are hearing this way) and everyone is praying for me! And all I want to say is I like it, it means a lot to me, and keep em coming baby.

It also might mean you don't hear from me on the blog for a bit. Apparently the typing motion makes it difficult for the boobs to heal so you aren't really supposed to type very much. Who knows?

Camp, summer, whatnot

We have one month left of summer for the Buddy before she starts second grade!

We kept the camp pretty light this year because she still has fun at the park playing.

The main problem with the camps around here are that they end at noon, 3 or sometime five but that is rare. And they cost an arm and a leg. And we're paying the nanny an arm and leg, so we don't have any more arms and legs to spare. We don't have them!!

So, this year Buddy did two camps within walking distance of the house, so the nanny could go pick her up. The first was art camp and she made some really neat stuff. She did paper mache which she was super happy about.

The second one was nerd  robot camp. UGH she loved it so much. She was so excited to do it and then every day would talk about all this robot stuff. I think we've got a little scientist on our hands, people.

Plus the took awesome pictures every day and I love all of them.

She's so cute my Buddy. She's getting so big, seven years old! I feel so lucky to have her.

weekend pics

You are totally not allowed to go in the planes at the Proud Bird but Buddy did and we got this rad picture.

Then I got to take these monkeys to the grocery store.

And home to watch a show.

A rare pic of these beauties together.

"Soccer" for Buddy.

Love these four.

Happy Birthday, Ori!!

Happy 6th birthday to my sweet nephew, Ori.

He is such a funny dude. I like his sense of style. He marches to the beat of his own drum. One day, he'll know my name. I love him so much. He's Buddy's original BFF. I can't believe he's six!!!!

Weekend Pics

Buddy had a birthday party for this nice girl on Saturday. So, we dropped her off and went to Proud Bird.
Someone was not amused by this turn of events.
But she did love Proud Bird.

What's not to love? You can eat delicious food, drink delicious beverages and watch the planes land. It's awesome.

I also got my hair cut Saturday.

Sunday was soccer.

My sister went in my stead, so I spent the morning making food for the week.

Tortellini Salad

Homemade Italian Dressing

Pot of beans

Then we spent the rest of the day eating, playing in the yard and relaxing.

Haiku Friday

I removed Facebook
from my handheld mobile phone.
I feel so alone.

Just kidding, I don't.
But I do miss it sometimes.
I'll give it a week.

Too much random stuff,
not necessary to me.
It's a waste of time.

Thank god for my husband, Babe. You know he's the sporty type. He did all kinds of sports as a kid. Okay, well did baseball. So it's always been really important for him that our kids do those things.

When Buddy was real little, we didn't sign her up for stuff because she was in daycare all day and she did so much stuff! But when she was about five we started trying out different activities. She likes soccer and she is a really good swimmer.

There's this indoor soccer thing over the summer that we signed her up for and they had a class at the same time for baby JOZE.

Please enjoy the following collection of the cutest shit I have ever seen.

Excuse my language.

Sash was posing like her cousin the Nav. Joze just loves her sissy.

Also many things have a "cinni" at the end of it, in the way of faux italian. So, we change buddy's diapuccini.

Also, other thigns are u-chi-chi. So, she has her baba, but instead its a babuchichi. And she calls me mamuchichi. And her blanket is a blankuchichi.

My poor kid. HAHA!

Little Joze saying my name.

I owe you weekend pics, fourth of july pics, so many pics! But these are neither. The nanny sent these today of the little girls playing at the park.

I love our little park. It's not a five minute walk from our house. The girls especially Joze basically hang out there all day with all the other neighborhood kids and their nannies. It's a wee community.

In the summer they have this little wading pool that is so darn cute.

They also have arts and crafts every day and games. They hire these teenagers who basically get paid to teach your kids how to make stuff and hang out. They are all super nice and I like them very much.

It's all free! Get out!
Here they are making art.

And here's Joze with her chubby baby hands drawing with markers in her overalls with her eyelashes all long I'm going to eat her.

DJ Khaled Loves His Garden

All this guy does is bring me joy. I don't know any of the music he makes, but he makes me super happy.
