We had an event last night - a fundraiser at the Pasadena Playhouse! We saw the play FLY and raised money for veteran scholarships. You know how we do. It was fun for me because I got to go out to dinner with my coworkers, then go to the play, and I didn't get home til late. It was nice to be out and about and Pasadena is like one of the prettiest places in los angeles.
Mostly I have had a few meetings today and am at my desk some. It is raining here and I wore the wrong shoes.
I have a luncheon in the south bay tomorrow, so I am going to meet a bunch of people and toss my business card everywhere. See if it sticks.
I had a long day! I stayed home in the morning for a bit so my nanny could straighten our her health insurance issues (ongoing). I came to work, went to a workshop, came back to work, went to a reception, did some work, went to dinner, went home, went to bed. Woke up 45 minutes later to nurse Josie. HA!
I have a pile of work to be done and most of it is interesting and or good. My little baby seems to be feeling better but the tooth poking through her top gum is making her a little bit angry. Me and Buddy cuddled this morning and we did sentences for her homework. I don't know what to make for dinner tonight.
I think it's going to be a great day tomorrow. I only have one meeting and I think I'm going to lunch with Vincent before he moves to the East Coast. (See what I did there?) Tomorrow is Friday night so we'll probably go out to the club. Just kidding.
Little tiny Josie (😀) turned 8 months old yesterday and celebrated with an ear infection and a terrible cough!
Luckily she takes medicine without too much drama and she seems to be a bit better today.
She is crawling now, but not completely coordinated yet. Heh. She likes all the baby food we give her and just started eating those puff things. She says Dada (traitor) and she is working on Sasha. Her days are pretty scheduled- short nap in the morning, long in the afternoon, short around 515 or so, bath at 730 then right to bed. She wakes up pretty frequently. I bet she is going to sleep through the night any day now. Ha!
Most of the days are going to look the same this week. Little Joze is so close to crawling. She can definitely get around the room, just not in the traditional one paw in front of the other way. She has her two top teeth breaking through and she also caught a wee cold from her sister, Buddy. So I guess what I'm trying to say is yesterday was run of the mill for me but a super big day for Joze.
Just your average Wednesday, isn't it? Kids were both adorable this morning, Nanny was right on time. I was lagging a bit. Got to work in time to get some stuff done (including this?) before I head off to a meeting about diversity. Right on. Tonight I suppose I'll make something easy for dinner, play the children, and read my New Zealand romance novel.
I did have a cool plan to have lunch with a prospective donor in Torrance which would have meant time at home with the kiddos in the morning but she rescheduled, so alas. It will be yet another run of the mill day. Ha!
