Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow

  • Just a regular Tuesday, really. I had a few meetings, went to a lunch time seminar, played with the children. I watched the 2nd of the new X-Files. So creepy, dude. It's nice to see Scully after all these years. This "season" or whatever its called is really campy and funny. Scully and Moulder are playing it up and playing a lot of it tounge in cheek dialogue.

  • An event tonight. I have two upcoming events I am putting together and promoting. Had a phone meeting this morning and a meeting with the King shortly. Wearing my new booties and feeling pretty good about the day.

  • My siblings are coming for lunch. I think we're going to make this an annual tradition. Instead of Christmas presents we'll get eachother a nice date lunch out and about. We're also checking out the new Broad museum downtown. Boom. Whatchoo got?

My days are looking up because I have my work uniform in place for the "winter," which in Los Angeles will be through February.

I have one of 10 cardigans to choose from every day, at least 5 - 10 black shirts, 5 black skirts, 5+ pairs of tights and two - three pairs of boots to pick from, with the addition of a few scarves. Lovely.

The weekend uniform remains the same: jeans, brewery sweatshirt + toms or converse.

You are welcome!

Today, tomorrow, and yesterday

  • I am at work today. It's a pretty standard Wednesday, meaning I have a couple of meetings, a few events I am working on, and, of course, plenty of pumping to do. The sun is shining a little bit and we have a lunch at el cholo to celebrate the new girl here.

  • I have taken a rare vacation day for tomorrow! We are going to Disneyland for my sister's beeday! Me, and the two girls + sister + a friend from work. I think Babe is going to join us in the early evening, so I can take the baby home and Buddy can party til the end of time.

  • The sun never came out yesterday and it sort of felt stupid and dreary all day. My meetings were no fun and I got bullied into taking on a project by a lady with more power than me. On the upside, though, me and Buddy cuddled on the couch while Sissy napped. Buddy watching Monster High, while I drank wine and read on my kindle. I had cheese and crackers for dinner which probably wasn't the best choice. HA!

weekend pics

So I Married an Axe Murderer was on tv Friday night and we watched it, Samoi, me, Babe, Buddy, and Ang for a bit. We all laughed and laughed.

Chach took buddy to legoland on Saturday and they had the best day ever.

I used that time to go see my dear friend Gabs and her little family. ACK it was so fun.

We did a lot of yoga this weekend. Or at least, Josie spent a lot of time in pigeon pose.

Buddy did quite a bit of scooting in her cape.

This is my life.

Oh. Hey, girl.

haiku friday

my little beesh beesh
is seven months old today!
getting all grown up.

she has two teeth, still,
and she likes to scoot around.
she laughs and babbles.

she drinks her babas,
and eats her little purees,
and still nurses well.

  • Looks like the subaru wont be ready til tomorrow. Boo!
  • Have a little time today? Take a look at the 52 places the NY Times says you must go in 2016.
  • I started watching The Great British Baking Show on netflix. Do yourself a favor and watch an episode.
  • Not raining today, so I took a walk. Best to get your steps in when its not raining people!
  • Work has started up quickly and with no ramp up - it's good. I am glad to be busy and the projects I am doing are interesting.
  • I haven't made any particular resolutions this year, but I still may. I have decided to try as hard as I can to remain positive. I know, I know. I am such a beacon of happiness - how could I get any more unfailingly positive? I've found that I have become a little snarky and I don't like that. I want to be genuine, thoughtful, and bright.

El Niño

Prepare to hear a lot about the rain people. Because that is what is happening here - it is raining.

My Subaru is still being repaired and so I have this dumb little car that is no match for the complete and total flood zone that is the Los Angeles streetscape. I am not joking- it is flooded.

Hopefully our sturdy little house doesn't have any heretofore unknown leaks and holes. The blue house in Culver City had them everywhere.

On my way to work, I saw this homeless woman pushing a shopping cart with a mattress on top of it through water that went up to her calves. Something isn't right here.

New year & second half of staycation

Cozy grama house!

No one will accuse us of not making every moment of our staycation count you guys!

We went to San Diego for the Holiday Bowl and to celebrate my Dad's 71st beeday. It was so very fun! We hung with my fam during the day on NYE and rolled back to LA. That evening we went to our neighbor friends and celebrated NY NYE. Yesterday we headed to Hemet to chill with the in-laws. This weekend is the usual purge that accompanies a change in season/holiday. Clean, clean, clean and football.
