Babe has an interesting opportunity which I will tell you more about at a later time.
The 405. No matter which way you slice it, the 405 is hell on earth. So, if you believe in heaven and hell, be careful boys and girls. Because if you are a bad person, you may be forced to spend eternity in the gridlock and congestion and all around horror that is the four zero five.
Let me make an amendment! I am NOT moving or going to Texas. I was just super annoyed that they keep stripping women of their rights.
It was so very, very nice to be back on the East Coast for a visit. Many reasons but I'll give you a few:
Walking: Just being in a place where you and everyone else is walking everywhere felt right. I was full of happiness and joy.
Fall: We have fall here - we do. It's when Trader Joe's starts selling pumpkin bread mix. But there! Fall is all encompassing. It's crisp. The leaves are changing color. All the girls are wearing boots and scarves. Yeah, ya did!
Bookstores: I didn't even know I missed these things. For those of you on the west coast, a bookstore is a place where people buy books. Mmmhmm. You heard me.
Buddy and I had a little conversation this this morning on the way to school:
Buddy: Mama! Halloween is coming soon!
Me: I know! What are you going to be?
Buddy: Wonder woman.
Me: What should I dress up as?
Me: And Dada?
Buddy: Daddy is Belle. And Ori is Elmo!
Me: Got it. Daddy is Belle and Ori is Elmo.
Buddy: And Nava is Tico, and Auntie Sunny is Isa and Ben is Swiper, too.
Me: And Auntie Angela?
Buddy: Auntie Angela is a tree.
There. So now you know who everyone is.
Big sandwich for tailgate.
Tailgate at the Rosebowl.
Buddy playing in Pottery Barn Kids with Auntie while I shopped.
My conference was a complete and total success, you guys! We had over 500 people RSVP and well over 300 show. All the speakers and panels were rad. Done and done!
I want to say more because I want to, but right now I have about 50 minutes to get some stuff done before I have to go get Buddy. Truly incredible though. The General was outstanding, everyone came to hobknob at the VIP breakfast, and then we spent all day diving deep into issues around housing and hiring returning vets.
The mayor was SO GOOD. I had no idea we had such a good one on our hands. I didn't think much of him when I met him for the mayoral debate a few months ago, but seeing him on stage and listening to his talk - I was very impressed.
Playoffs, I guess. I'm happy for my friends who are dodger fans, but am annoyed that the Yankees suck and have sucked for a long time. I hope they keep Gerrardi becasue I like him but then again maybe he should go. Ambivelent? You betcha.
Hey government shutdown! Thanks for making it so Bestie's Husband has no job and so my keynote cancelled five days before my big event!
