I'm so excited about the LOST season premiere tonight. I know I'm such a nerd, but you guys already knew that! Have you seen these: Lost Missing Pieces - they are 12 little snippets of scenes that were never aired. They are juicy, too! Not just nonsense.

I'm so ready! I've been re-watching the first season - NERD A LICIOUS!!!

Restaurant Week

Every year - sometimes twice a year - me and the President Babraham Lincoln hit up NYC Restaurant Week. This winter was no exception. Friday, with work peeps, I dined at Jean-Georges Perry Street, which is located in those big glass buildings on the West Side Highway and has a Michelin Star. The food was tremendous - the atmosphere was so freakin fancy! I had cream of tomato soup that was to die for and a nice steak that sat on top of a bed of spinach and jalapenos. YUM.

Last night, Me and Babe and Nancoi and Jim (I need knickknacks for them - I sort of want to call Jim the Republican but don't want that to sound derogatory...think Cod, think!) hit up Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill. Everything was delicious - from the cactus pear margarita to the corn bread to the cornmeal encrusted chili relleno. Plus, they had one of my favorite wines EVER on their list - the August Briggs Pinot Meunier, which Babe and I had once at Landmarc in Tribeca (one of the best restaurants I've ever been to). We even had a food network celebrity sighting - this guy was eating a table over from us. Too bad the service stunk - but I guess that's how it goes during restaurant week when they have to feed the masses.

You guys! Make sure to vote for your favorite New Kid! I know for a fact more than 10 people read this blog! Your votes are totally anonymous, btw!

This morning kind of stank. I seriously had every single pair of pants I own on my bod at one time. ANYWAYS! When I finally left the house, I was dejected! I put on my IPOD and was so stolked to hear "Hip Hop History, 1989" which I downloaded for free from the Rub website. Check it out, you guys. It's so sick.

Can it be true? The New Kids are staging a comeback tour. Its been almost 20 years, all the girls who used to love them are in their thirties. I can't say too much - I'm a little emotional. I hope I can find my huge buttons and big tees. I'll try to scan a picture of me and Angela all dolled up for our first New Kids show. You guys will love it. I've made a poll for you to fill out on the right hand side. Let's see which New Kid was your favorite.

Food and Drink

We've been hosting potential job candidates at work this week, which means I've been eating in some delicious restaurants! We went to Po for lunch yesterday. I've only been there once before and that time it was tremendous - an absolutely delicious meal. The dessert was rave worthy - fresh strawberries with a balsamic vinegar reduction. I nearly cried...This time, however, was not rave worthy. The appetizer was really perfect - a white bean Bruschetta (for my next Bruschetta bar!) drenched in olive oil. The entree I chose was a no-brainer, I thought. Gnocchi is always so fluffy and delicious, especially from a place like Po, but this time it was nearly hard as a rock. Oh well. For dinner, though, we went to Home, which I've also been to before and adored. I had one of the best salads I've ever had, delicious local wine, and a few bites of decadent, creamy, and delicious macaroni and cheese! I'll tell you about today's meals tomorrow!

All work

I'm loving my newfound freedom you guys. On Saturday, I spent five hours cooking. Nothing could be more fun!! I made a lot of different items, but particularly loved the salad dressing for one of my salads - it was cilantro, EVOO, lime juice and taco sauce. MMM cilantro!...I have just been reading and reading and reading, too!...Right now I'm almost done with Balzac and the little seamstress...I'll give you a review once I'm done. AND! I watched the presidential debate where Clinton and Obama were sharpening their claws on eachother and Edwards was acting as a referee/babysitter...AND! I took a spin class yesterday at the gym. My ass is broken.

Joke, Courtesy of Ang

Four football fans -- a Colts fan, a Seahawks fan, a Chargers fan, and a Patriots fan -- are climbing a mountain and arguing about who loves his team more.

The Indianapolis fan insists he is the most loyal. "This is for the Colts!" he yells, and jumps off the side of the mountain.

Not to be outdone, the Seattle fan shouts, "This is for the Seahawks!" and throws himself off the mountain.

The San Diego fan is next and professing his love for his team. He yells, "This is for everyone!" and pushes the Patriot fan off the mountain.

Used to feel like heaven

Hours and hours of meetings today.

I think I passed my thesis. Does this look like it to you?

Hi Prof. ________________,

I hope your trip to India was fantastic.

I've just heard from ____________ that she has a form for you to fill out which must be completed by Friday. This form would say that I "pass" and then would be able to graduate. Do you think you'll be able to sign off on that form by this Friday?

Thanks very much.

Dear Coodence (and ___________),
I'm not back in town yet so won't be able to fill out the form by friday. If __________ could fill it out for me that would be fine.

You Are Pinot Gris

More hip than most, you spot trends before they even really get started.
If something is new and unique, you know about it... and you've probably tried it.
You have a good number of projects, interests, and relationships - but they are all fleeting.
The world is so appealing and diverse, you can't help but seek variety.

Deep down you are: A true flirt

Your partying style: Exclusive. You only party with people you've personally selected.

Your company is enjoyed best with: A big bowl of pasta

Open Letter to DVR

Dearest DVR,

Thank you very much for coming into my life. I appreciate what you've done for me and the myriad of shows I am now able to enjoy.

From last night's premiere of American Idol, fast forwarding horrible singers and long commercial breaks, plus some clips of crying families, to recording a whole marathon of America's Next Top Model off of MTV, to daily episodes of Ellen so I can watch her monologue even when I'm not home sick, you have changed my life.

DVR, at a mere $8.00 a month, I will gladly cancel netflix, drink coffee only 4 days a week, or sell two cds a month to finance you.

As that guy in that horribly lame song says:

" You're beautiful. You're beautiful. You're beautiful, it's true."

Dude, I know there are more than three of you out there! Tell me what your favorite book was in 2007!
Thank god for the gym. It makes me so happy to be back there. Tonight is pilates and I can't wait.
Are you guys super excited to vote in your primary? I am.
I read a sad story about a girl who killed herself after her friends played a myspace hoax on her. What occurred to me when I was reading this story was how vigilant parents must have to be regarding their children playing online. I just think about the nonsense I used to get into "playin on the phone" and can't imagine the damage I could've done with a myspace account!!

Request for Titles

Brilliant weekend, folks, in the British way, Scooter...GO PACKERS!!!!!!!!....I can't believe both the Packers and the Chargers won this weekend! I mean, I totally believe the Packers won, I wasn't worried at all. Even when the game started with Seattle scoring two touchdowns I still wasn't worried...But the Chargers! They fought so hard and won! You go fellas!...Watched multiple movies, 16 Blocks with Mos Def and Bruce Willis and Music and Lyrics with Drew Barrymore and Hugh Grant...A few words on the lovely Drew Barrymore...I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Drew b/c of her close resemblance to BFF, however her acting voice and doe-y eyes kind of got on my nerves in this RomCom. Both were great - 16 Blocks was action packed and fun, a NYC movie with a few twists and turns and that horrible man from House, David Morse, who makes my stomach turn...and Music and Lyrics was funny and stupid. Loved it! ... I also read a book, Water for Elephants, and enjoyed the heck out of reading it! It was about a fella who joins the circus, and mystery, murder, and lotsa bootleg drinking ensue...Which brings me to a question, a favor, if you will! Would you please tell me the best book you read in 2007? I'd like to read it.

(PS - I feel kind of bad for dissing on Drew Barrymore. I love her. She just kind of gets on my nerves.)

Thirsty Thursday

Today, I'll turn in my thesis. I hope this works!! It was maybe the hardest project I've ever worked on, because I just wasn't that into it, had no support from classmates or my department, and basically did the whole thing whilst working full time. Oh well, I hope it passes and I can check off that box. Then I'll be Master Squared just like I'm Indian Squared and all the world will bow down to me. Wait...that doesn't seem right...
You know what I don't like? Ugly boots.
You know what I do like? Those ads in the subway for the Veggie Tales pirate movie.
Speaking of movie posters in the subway, have you see the poster for Jessica Alba's new movie, The Eye? Well. Lucky for you, I can't find a picture of it on the WWW, but let me tell you. It's freaking gross.

Hello coodence!

for now, read these:

OPINION | January 8, 2008
Op-Ed Contributor: Women Are Never Front-Runners
Gender is probably the most restricting force in American life, whether the question is who must be in the kitchen or who could be in the White House.

Op-Ed Columnist: Can Hillary Cry Her Way Back to the White House?
There was a poignancy about the moment, seeing Hillary Clinton crack with exhaustion from decades of yearning to be the principal rather than the plus-one.

Pics from the holiday vacay

Here's Uncle Babe (ha!) teetering and tottering with the two little ones. So fun! Gorgeous San Diego weather - it was about 80 degrees. No joke!
This is me and Babe in perfect bliss. We are sitting in front of Spudnuts this donut place I used to spend oh I don't know every single Friday or Saturday night at when I was in high school. We would stop by and drink coffee and smoke cigarettes and be generally super loud high school kids. Anyways, this is me and Babe having just shared a donut with sprinkles while sitting in the hot hot sun.
This is the side of the house I grew up in. Pops planted that tree 25 years ago! Look at it now! Wow. My dad is awesome.
This is BFF driving to work as we are driving back down to San Diego. Look at her cute coche. I love it. Cindy and Omar's buddy dog named Cisco. He's so nice. And funny. And don't you want to just grab onto his face and smooch it?

Amazing Race

Too bad Kynt and Vyxsin lost the Amazing Race. They were so cute and awesome to look at. I seriously don't think they're a couple, though, more like BFF.

Definitely the coolest looking couple on the Race. Also, he's so Texas it was crazy to see someone so out there in style and so southern. I had no idea!

Back to my paper!! It's almost done!

Guess what I finally made!!!!

My first awesome snowman! Isn't he funny and GREAT!!! I love him. Or her. More later!

Happy Birthday, Baby C!

This little angel turned 1 just before the holidays and I didn't even post it. Gosh what a bad Auntie I am. Luckily she's too little to know - but in a few years!! I'd have been busted!!!! Happy Happy Birthday Little Girl!

Welcome, 2008!

Dear Readers!

It's been so long since we've spoken. I've been away in Sunny California, wearing flip-flops, eating Mexican food, and staring at the Pacific Ocean until my ojos bled.

But now I'm back and it couldn't be nicer. Well, that's not entirely true. It's about 20 degrees, no exaggeration, so it could, in fact, be a little nicer.

What's going on in 2008? Any traveling plans? Any resolutions? I'm resolved to complain less. I'll keep you posted.

I'm inches away from finishing my second Master's degree. Inches. If this was football I'd be 3rd and goal with six seconds left on the clock.

Love you!
