Haiku Moving to Brooklyn Friday

Third move in NY.
Each place is better than last.
And this place is huge.

Brooklyn here we come.
My pal says "Manhattan is
for amateurs." Ha!

At least its cooled off.
It was so freaking humid.
Sweat dripping down.

Beautiful Wisconsin

Huge mansions ring Lake Geneva.
Every one of them has a little dock with a couple of boats at the end. It's a hard life, people.
This is the path that goes all the way around the lake - a 21 mile walk. I only went about one or two.
That's my Uncle taking me and Babe on a walk through the woods. Not in Lake Geneva.
Crow Rapids. Looks like Lord of the Rings. Amazing.

You know what state is awesome? Wisconsin. Know why? Cuz it's beautiful and the people are really nice.

Don't try to be on a diet whilst visiting, however. Because do you know what else is great about Wisconsin? The beer and the cheese and the breakfast buffets at their hotels.

Went on an awesome hike into the woods - pictures to follow, per uzh. Saw my Grama. She's awesome. Hung out with my uncles and cousins, etc.

Had Babe's work retreat in Lake Geneva. Fancy.

I realize that NYC has me jaded. I was totally astonished by how nice people were. I mean from the Dollar Rent A Car guy to the waitress at Perkins, they were all friendly. Gasp. I'm from NY, people. Nobody - and I mean nobody - who works in the service industry is friendly. Sure, waiters are polite - but never perky! Friendly? Forget it.

Anyways, I'm back. And that's the last vacay I'm taking this summer - s0 there will no further interruptions in your regularly programmed nonsense that is my blog.

Haiku Friday

I almost missed it!
Haiku-ing from the Midwest.
Here for Babe's retreat.

Flew through Tennessee.
How does that make any sense?
Flight was canceled.

Have a good weekend.
I hope it is off the hook.
Or at least, the chain.

Rockin and Stinkin

Things that rock:
  • The Lure Fish Bar for happy hour. Chicken lollipops? Okay!
  • Big Love and the little extra three minute movies that HBO has kindly put together for us so we can know more about how on earth Bill chose Nicky and Marjene or why on earth they chose him. I must say, however, that I'm a little freaked out to know that one of the character has a blog on HBO's website. How bizarre is that?
  • The thunderstorm that happened last night.
Things that stink:
  • Totally always forgetting my umbrella even when its totally raining as I leave the house.
  • Not have any boxes to use to pack up the rest of my stuff.

Harry's Water Taxi

Dudes! Totally checked out Harry's Water Taxi beach on Sunday night for SJG's birthday! It was really, really nice there. It had been a long time since I had my feet in the sand, and I was loving it! I took some pictures, will bring them tomorrow.

Took the water taxi to get there - AWESOME! We took a tour around the City and saw the Statue of Liberty up close. Totally worth the $10 for the ticket!

Baseball and BBQ

I'm glad the Yankees are winning again! I know lots of you aren't, or could care less, but let's try to all get along here people.

I've been watching a lot of baseball these days since there are no good shows on anymore. Except Big Love, of course. I do believe Entourage will be back soon, too, and that, my friends, is going to be awesome.

We went to the Yankee game, by the way, when Ang was here. Those were our seats. Only the best, my friends!

Also, tried Daisy May's BBQ on the far west side. Best ribs I've ever had, but overall no comparison to Dinosaur BBQ which is of course totally off the hook.

I like NY in June...

How bout you?

Ang and I checked out this exhibit "Turner Classic Movies – Architecture in Film: Celluloid Skyline: New York & Movies" over at Grand Central Station over the weekend. For movie and architecture fans, I'd recommend. Pretty neat!

We also walked over the Brooklyn Bridge which I've done before but always enjoy. If you've never done it, you definitely should. Wonderful views!!

  • By the way, the season finale of the Sopranos was pretty awesome and sort of what I expected to happen. I won't say what it was in case you haven't read a paper in five days.
  • Big Love started again last night. What a awesome show dude.

Look at this puppy. I wanted to take him home. But he cost $2,995, so I couldnt.

Jail time for Paris?
Must be nice to have money.
Most are furious.

Banjela in town.
Yankee game tonight uptown.
Tomorrow Brooklyn.

Should be a scorcher,
But the weekend will be great.
And so relaxing.

Late to every television show

It took me years to watch scrubs. Now I watch two reruns every night that I have a chance. Here's why.

Dogs of Nantucket

As usual, took a lot of photos on Nantucket! Of course! So I'll try to bring them to you in some sort of order so as not to overwhelm.
Random Dogie.

I'm back, peeps! Stories and pictures to come.

Jetblue rocks the house - 39 minute flight to Nantucket, $70 a person.

Bacci Balls, I say!

Will be back on Tues.
Rested, with pics and stories.
