BFF is having a rough month. Here is a list of reasons why she rocks:

1. Very attractive, specifically beautiful eyes.
2. Funniest person I know.
3. Eternally optomistic about possibilities for love and happiness.
4. She's lost 13 pounds in as many weeks, and for a woman who once said she would prefer to live on a diet of red meat and full-calorie beer this is one hell of an accomplishment.
5. She is a fast reader.
6. She is tall and for a BFF that is important. (Because I'm tall, get it?)
7. She gives great hugs.
8. She can give you the director, producer, lead actors and supporting, for just about every movie you'd watch.
9. She writes great movies reviews & puts naked pictures of herself on the Internet.
10. Because she is 100%, full fledged, unhesitantingly RANDI. And nobody else.

Super Chill

My weekend was super chill you guys. Friday night just hung out and played UNO at our pal's place. She has the most spacious and relaxing apartment, high above 2nd avenue, so you feel close to the City and far from it all. She is on 2nd Ave. and 45th St, so we're basically exactly across town from eachother. Oh Met Life Building. So pretty.

Saturday BabenI went shopping and we hit up the NYPL, the New York Public Library, ya heard! It was super fun and I can't wait (can't wait!) til I'm done with school and then I can return to the NYPL and check out books I want to read all summer long. Oh Summer Reading List. How I yearn to begin reading you. The Macy's Flower Show was happening and usually I steer clear of Macy's due to the crazy amounts of people, but we went on Saturday and it was so beautiful! The whole bottom floor was full to the brim of beautiful and ridiculous bouquets. Check it out if you have a chance.

Sunday, I did homework and Babe cleaned the house b/c he is my hero. We had dinner at Arriba! Arriba! My favorite mexican restaurant near our place. Margaritas!!

Oh, Hell No

Last night, all these people were stuck inside the tram to Roosevelt Island suspended hundreds of feet above the east river waiting to be rescued.

This is where we stayed in Wisconsin, right here on Shawano Lake. It was absolutely gorgeous and so quiet and nice. Babe and I are planning to buy a lake lot in the nabe and one day we too will have a caboon type of house just like this one.

Delta

Children, I'm back! I can't stay long today for I have much catching up to do at work and in my life. I have stories and photos to share, though, of my Grama's 90th birthday and mine and Babe's trip to Wisconsin.

I want to show you something, though, and tell me what you think. We flew Delta out of La Guardia to Chicago and were totally surprised to find ourselves flying out of this building The Marine Air Terminal which was built in 1939 as a separate airport for special Delta flights that could land on water as well as land (thanks, Drew!). It is a good 20 minutes away from the regular La Guardia terminal so if you are flying to Chicago on Delta, make sure to give yourself some extra time!

Get a load of this crazy Art Deco building you guys! The gate area also featured a beautiful restaurant, lounge, and a computer lab with internet access and fancy MAC computers. Here's a foto I took of myself, as well as fotos of the Marine Air Terminal that I ripped off of websites.

So great

The Amazing Race is such a top notch show. I think part of the reason it is so good this season is because I took last season off. Rested. It's just a good show, with a great cast of characters including two funny boys from the Bay arear and some golden oldies who have made it further than any other older people to date. Good times.

I also viewed The Corpse Bride by Tim Burton. It was a creepy and cute ghost story and some parts were laugh out loud funny.

Things are starting to get a little busy, my dear ones. I think you should consider reading this book: Jazz by Toni Morrison. Seriously, read it. It's very good.

Also, Babe's going to be a licensed architect soon, we're just waiting for the PASSY letters in the mail. Any thoughts on where we should throw the party? It is going to be a big one. And fun.

I miss Jessicurl. She moved back to the Bay.

The Jams

Collins Bar (we've talked about this place, people, but if you need reminding: click here) is one of those bars with a super good juke box. The other night when Babe and I were there (with some pals, kids, not to worry. We don't just go drinking on weeknights to amuse ourselves. Anymore.), we made sure to play "jams" the whole night long. A sampling? What were these jams you ask?

Tony

Those who were waiting for Tony to be "back" - well, he's back. It wouldn't be terrible if we could have one episode without Tony booting is all I'm saying.

April 10th today. 11 months not smoking. How bout that?

For our 10th anniversary on Saturday we went to a great dinner at the site of our first date and we also hit up Dylan's Candy Store which is so unbelievably cool. It is a two-story candy extravaganza! They've got red vines, and MnMs in 30 different colors and PEEPS! So many PEEPS. Check it out you guys. Super fun place to visit.

Also, bought some new music this weekend! Yum for new tunes. We got Prince's new album, the Gorillaz, and... .... ... ... ... ... Babe, what was the last one?

it's the little things

In NYC, two dozen roses cost only $8.00. We get freshies every week. It's the little things, people, that make every day great!

Misc. Items

It's a miscellaneous items type of day for me, because the week has been so scattered.

• I saw Robin Williams in the park yesterday. They are filming the movie August Rush all over Ma-hattan, so with this latest sighting, I've now seen nearly the entire cast.
• Someone just commented on my blog that I need to be more interesting. It burns, a bit, but I have to admit, I've had a hard time coming up with blogworthy stuff this week. I haven't been consuming as much of anything - television, movies, booze or food, so it's tough to come out with stories. I can tell you what I have been doing but it is not very interesting - I've been working out - pilates and walking home. I've been eating dinner at home, which I've either made of babe has. I've been watching LOST on DVD and reading for class. I've been dieting.
  
• Wake up!!
• I'm going to Wisconsin in a week and a half for my Grama's 90th birthday. Beat that! See what I mean, you guys? I got nothin.
  

Super slow blog week

It has been a super slow blog week! I've been doing a lot of reading (Beloved and a book about Mestizaje which has not yet been released so I won't say too much about it lest I ruin the surprise) and going to pilates. I am coming up on my one year quitting smoking date so would like to be super-fit and hella-toned by the time that comes around.

Congrats to Nancy for quitting smoking for a whole year, too.

Just wanted to say hi. I'll hopefully have something interesting to lob at you later.

time change

This event during our year - of switching the clock forwards and backwards - affords us the use of the singular excuse "oh, it's because of the time change." I guarantee you'll hear it this week at some point. Or your money back.

You may already know this, but next year, the time is going to spring forward a full month earlier and fall backward a week later. So, we'll change the time on March 11, not April 2nd, and turn it back on Nov. 4, not Oct. 29th. We'll have a whole extra month of freakishly long days. I know Babe is thrilled.

It's because of George W. if you can believe it.

Babe's done taking his tests!!! He took the 9th and final exam on Saturday AM while I dreamt of alarm clocks and Bobby Flay.

To celebrate, we went Out. Taking Monar's suggestion we went to the Hudson Hotel for a cocktail. What a gorgeous bar - and neat hotel. $21 for two cocktails is steep but the place makes you feel hella fancy (but not boring!). Nice to have a drink at a hotel because all the peeps there are on vacaciones so you feel yourself like you are on a trip.

We had the most scrumptious dinner at Bobby Flay's Bar Americain where we ate everything in sight. We started with an appetizer each, I got the best Onion Soup I've ever had, they called it and Babe got the Artisinal Ham Tasting - YUM! I got for dinner a NY Strip Steak which was tender and delicious and so well seasoned and he got a red snapper with crusty plantain breading on the outside.

For dessert we had a BlackBerry souffle and Whiskey Eclairs covered with caramel sauce which we paired with a delicious dessert wine flight tasting.

The service was great, the atmosphere was neat - oversized and funky. I recommend! It was totally pricey, but that is because we really got whatever we wanted - and Babe deserved it because he's been studying for years. YEARS.

We ended the night with a night cap at Vintage on 9th Ave. a wine bar with a cute casual feel and a nice crowd.
