The Post About Paris, Part II

Luxemburg Palace.

Babe is great. I always make him do this, and I think he hates it. But it cracks me up!!! Hahaha.
This is the Hotel De Invalides, where the veterans used to live. Now Napolean is buried there.

The Post about Paris, Part I

Did you see the Da Vinci Code? I didn't see it , but I read it. The Louvre really is totally off the hook. It is so big. "They" say it would take nine months to glance at every painting in the museum. Beat that, Met.
Notre Dame is the biggest and prettiest church I've ever been in. It's so huge that from the back you can't even really see the altar. The picture shows the Flying Buttresses pretty well. Oh Brother Edward.
The Louvre is housed in this old palace. Who used to live there? I don't remember. Whoever they were had more money than Bill Gates. This is just one example of one of the ceilings - they were all this amazing.

Yup, that's Venus. She's from 200 BC.
"Old Ticker" - all the clocks in Paris even the old ones like this totally work. None of the clocks in NYC work.
Random mansions and palatial estates abound.
Stained glass in the Notre Dame. Did you know that Notre Dame is considered the center of Paris and all points in Paris are measured as their distance to that point?
The river Seine.
Medusa's ugly mug from a door to someone's apartment building.

I'm back, peeps! We had such a fantastic time - the trip was just perfect. It really is a beautiful and romantic place. I have totally perfected my 10 french phrases, from Bonjour! to Au Revoir! to my room number.

Totally have to get back to work and have school today too. But I can't wait to show you pictures and tell you all about it. Dude, if you can go to Paris, you should go. But! I will say this! Everyone who tells you that everyone in Paris speaks English is totally lying.

Au Revoir!

I'm going to Paris today. I'll see you guys when I get back. Go read BFFs blog while I'm gone. She's super funny when she's not berating herself endlessly for no reason.

Fast Food Nation

Fast Food Nation is now a movie. For anyone who read this, you know the movie is going to be nasty!! Ew!

So BFF & I were chatting as to why this movie is not a documentary. I now know the answer! I saw Eric Schlosser on NY1 this morning and Neil Rosen asked him just that. Schlosser said he spent a year talking to directors and producers of big documentary movies but that all the big studios have corporate relationships with fast food chains. He said he'd rather have a fictionalized account than a watered down documentary.

Good point. Know whats neither watered down nor fictionalized? The book.

Says Much

I haven't had a lot of things to say lately, mainly because work is kickin my booty some and school is coming on strong but things are going really well. I thought I'd toss you a couple of items - maybe a recommendation, something you should stay away from, and something I feel neither here nor there about. Let's try!

A Recommendation
I make good chili, man! You guys should try it. But the recommendation part is that instead of making corn bread with my chili, I make little corn pancakes that you put on top of your chili bowl and its like a little treat every time you take a bite. To make the corn pancakes, all you need is:

2 packages of Jiffy Corn Mix
1 egg
1 cup of Milk
2 tbspns of veg. oil

Mix em together, get your favorite frying pan really hot, put a little butter in the pan, and drop in tablespoon size drops of pancake batter. MMM MMM let em cook, turn em once, toss em on the top of your chili bowl. Man, people will be stolked!

Something you should stay away from
Too much NY1. I know. Those of you who are faithful readers must be shocked. Haha, as if you care that much. But really, you guys know how much I love NY1. But I feel as though with its repetitive nature you really keep hearing about the same horrific crimes over and over again. Just yesterday a woman killed her little boy and claims that demons made her do it. Okay, who needs that kind of trauma late at night and first thing in the morning?

Its neither here nor there
Bing, or a different kind of dumpling, was supposed to revolutionize W. 3rd St. next to the basketball courts. And it did for a minute. Every morning, noon, and night free bing sat out for all passer by. Rolls stuffed with spicy cabbage or pork. Free! Anyways, so I tried them. And I even bought one. They're a dollar. But they're really neither here nor there.

What a bore!

What a bore I have been! I'm serious, you'd think all I ever did was go to work and school. Oh.

You guys up to anything good? Dude, the election results are pretty awesome. They're calling this a referendum. Sounds good to me.

I watched Jon Steward and Steven Colbert's election coverage last night, while simultaneously reading the cover interview with them in the Rolling Stone magazine. It's like I can't get enough of these two.

Speaking of Rolling Stone, I mysteriously began to receive the magazine in my mailbox. Do you by any chance have anything to do with that? Silly blog reader - you don't need to get me any gifts. Just knowing that you are enjoying Coodence's World is gift enough for me.

Busy week! Go vote tomorrow!

I'll try to come up with something good or interesting to say by the end of the day. Got class, doing a guest lecture, have work, and am supposed to go to dinner in Brooklyn tonight. We'll see which one of those doesn't quite pan out.
